From the back cover:

After years of working the land in rural Eastern Oregon, Linda Cordtz has produced volume of poetry entitled "Walking in the Orchard". Here Linda shares her elegant and wise meditations on nature, life's changing rhythms, peace, and gratitude. Linda holds deep reverence for the land and is a staunch defender of agrarian values. Her poetry celebrates the holiness of life and everyday miracles often taken for granted. These writings are spirit-songs that shine a light on the surprising intimacy of sustainable agriculture. Linda's eco-poetry is infused with a clear message: humans must learn to live in harmony with the natural rhythms of the earth. Gratitude is the only answer.

Food Sovereignty

"Food sovereignty is the right of peoples to healthy and culturally appropriate food produced through ecologically sound and sustainable methods, and their right to define their own food and agriculture systems. It puts the aspirations and needs of those who produce, distribute, and consume food at the heart of food systems and policies rather than the demands of markets and corporations."  - Nyeleni Declaration February 2007
