Watching the fruit grow

Thinning is finished right in time for the hot weather to start.  We've had temps in the low 90's the last week or so which has really got the fruit growing.  The apricots seeds are hardening now and when that is complete the tree will put its energy to building up the fruit and ripening.  Peaches and apples are getting bigger every day, you can almost watch them grow.  This time of year we spend our time irrigating the trees and occasionally mowing, I think I'll go fishing.

We had a visit earlier this spring from Daniel, Cathy & Henri Geoiget, Peaceful Belly CSA members.  We walked through the orchard, talked about the trees which were all in bloom and enjoyed the spring day.  The flowers they photographed and enjoyed are well on there way to becoming this summers fruit.
