Mid Febuary Still pruning, time to sign up for your CSAby Linda & Rob Cordtz on 02/08/11
The pruning is moving along well, we've finished the apples, apricots and pears now. Linda, Karl and I pruned 87 pear trees yesterday, a new record for us. Now its on to the peaches hope to finish them before frost protection starts in March.
Its time to sign up for your CSA again for this coming season. Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a great way to support your local farmers, get the best locally produced produce, fruit, meat, flowers, eggs, milk and even wine. You get to know your farmer and share their harvest bounty. It is more important than ever to know where your food comes from with all the threats from pesticide contamination and GMO/GE Franken-foods that are out there. By supporting your CSA you are "voting" with your dollar you are standing up against big corporate ag and saying "I support local organic farmers who care what they are producing!"
